The button and receiver can be used by either mounting the button or the receiver to the desired mounting surface. When the button is fastened to the mounting surface, the receiver will be fastened to the object to be hung. When the receiver is fastened to the mounting surface, the button will be fastened to the object to be hung. The button or receiver mounting procedures are described below. Mount the small side of button to the desired mounting surface using an appropriate length and diameter screw (not supplied). DO NOT EXCEED 50 POUNDS OF LOAD. If mounting on drywall or other areas without studs, use appropriate fasteners (wall anchors) that meet or exceed the required weight limitation. It is recommended that buttons be fastened with the appropriate length and diameter screw, to a solid surface, such as wood backing or wood studs. If the button is to be mounted in concrete, use concrete anchors that meet or exceed the required weight limitation. The screw length shall be determined by the type of mounting surface.

Mount the receiver to the desired surface using an appropriate length and diameter screw (not supplied). DO NOT EXCEED 50 POUNDS OF LOAD. If mounting the receiver with only 3M adhesive backing (supplied), it is imperative to follow the directions and bonding times for the 3M adhesive backing installation specified below. For screw mounting, locate the hole in back of the receiver and insert an appropriate length and diameter screw through the hole securing the receiver to the mounting surface. When the receiver is fastened to the mounting surface, the open end of the receiver should point up. (If the button is fastened to the mounting surface, the open end on the receiver should point down.) If using the 3M adhesive backing for mounting, it is also recommended to use a screw in addition to the 3M adhesive backing. If using only the 3M adhesive backing for mounting, DO NOT EXCEED 10 POUNDS OF LOAD. If using 3M adhesive for mounting, first abrade the back side of the receiver using an abrasive paper or file. Clean the receiver mounting surface with a mixture of 50% isopropyl alcohol and 50% water. Let the surface dry, then apply the 3M adhesive to the mounting surface.
